My husband and I felt that we live close enough to our daughter’s school that driving is not necessary but walking takes a little too long.  So, we decided to look into buying a baby bike trailer.  But, we didn’t know anything about them.  Well, it took some time but we looked at most of the options available.  So why not make a guide with the 6 best baby bike trailers in 2020 for the WAYISAVE community?

Best Baby Bike Trailers In 2020

Burley D’Lite X

Burley is considered by many as the best manufacturer of baby bike trailers.  And, looking at the D’Lite X… you can see why.  The Burley D’lite X isn’t the most expensive option available.  But, it was the most expensive I was willing to look at.  The price tag is steep at $899.99.  But, most of the reviews say it’s worth it.  As you can expect, it’s built well with plenty of room to carry anything you can think of.  And, the adjustable suspension makes for a comfortable ride.  Burley even offers 4 conversion kits that can expand its abilities.

MSRP: Single $699.99 (Amazon Link) | Double $899.99 (Amazon Link)

Optional Conversion Kits: Jogger, stroller, 16+ wheel & ski

Burley D’Lite X Features:

  • Independent recline offers maximum seating customization with 3-positions of adjustment for both passengers
  • Quick Receivers deliver easy installation or removal of the tow bar and conversion kits when it’s time for a different adventure
  • Adjustable suspension dials in the smoothest ride for all conditions and terrains
  • Premium 20” wheels offer a wider, more aggressive tread with modern reflective taping
  • Included 1-Wheel Stroller Kit enhances use with a quick transition from biking to strolling out of the box
  • Premium Seat Pads include a headrest for added comfort and are removable for easy cleaning. Headrest keeps sleepy riders comfortable in a supported position
  • Skid Guard with integrated reflectors protects the trailer

Hamax Outback

The Hamax Outback comes in at a little less than the D’Lite but it still features a quality build and even includes the stroller conversion kit.  It features a 100% aluminum roll cage that provides protection but keeps the overall weight down.  And, you still have more than enough room to carry your little one and everything else you need to store.

MSRP: Single $649.00 (Amazon Link) | Double $699.00 (Amazon Link)

Optional Conversion Kits: Jogger, stroller (included).

Hamax Outback Features:

  • Child bike trailer, stroller, & jogger* in 1 with easy transition between kits – great for families-on-the-go! Features double-lock with safety indicator for a secure connection. Includes bike kit, stroller kit, & flag (jogger sold sep).
  • 2016 Reddot Design Winner; EN/ASTM Certified; Durable, yet lightweight 100% aluminum frame for rollover protection; Padded 5-point safety harness; Parking brake; Reflectors & reflective material for max visibility.
  • Easy-fold design with quick-release rear wheels stores flat for transport or storage. Roomy interior features generous foot room and rear storage space for kits and personal items. Rubber-lined mats.
  • Adjustable shock suspension for a smooth and secure ride no matter the terrain. Height-customizable Push Bar for an ergonomic and comfortable grip. Padded, relaxed seats feature adjustable headrests with neck support.
  • Wide UV-protected windows & optional sunroof for fun and immersive experience. Water-resistant fabric features built-in ventilation and includes sunshade, bug screen, and rain cover with storage pocket.

Burley Bee

The Bee still features the quality build that Burley brings to the table.  But, you lose some of the features of the D’Lite X.  You no longer have the adjustable suspension, conversion kits, and independent reclinable seats.  But, you still have 20″ wheels, steel hitch/tow bar, and full aluminum roll cage.  Not a bad option at all if you want to buy a Burley but your willing to forgo some features to save a lot of money.

MSRP: Double $349.99 (Amazon Link)

Optional Conversion Kits: None

Burley Bee Features:

  • Compact fold flattens the trailer for easy storage and transportation
  • Tinted side windows
  • 20” push button wheels for quick removal
  • Ready to Bike: includes Steel Hitch, tow bar, and safety flag
  • Five-point harness system
  • Full internal aluminum roll cage for protection in an accident
  • Wheel guards for protection from unforeseen obstacles

Schwinn Trailblazer

The Schwinn Trailblazer is a nice option to look at if you want quality but don’t want to spend too much money.  It comes in at $100 less than the cheapest Burley.  But, it’s fairly easy to assemble, it has “real” tires with tubes and works well.  With that said… don’t expect a top-notch build or fancy options.

MSRP: Double $229.99 (Amazon Link)

Optional Conversion Kits: Stroller

Schwinn Trailblazer Features:

  • Handy stroller kit (handle and front wheel) conveniently turns the trailer into a stroller for walks or jogs
  • Unique folding frame and quick-release wheels pack up neatly for compact storage and transport
  • Universal coupler easily attaches to almost any bicycle for added versatility; one-time installation
  • Two-in-one canopy has bug screen and weather shield for protection from the elements; 16-inch air-filled tires with molded rims provide a smooth ride
  • Holds two kids (up to 40 lbs. each) and an additional 12 lbs. Of convenient storage for whatever else you need

Allen Sports Deluxe

The Allen Sports Deluxe is probably the lowest priced option I would consider.  But, you have to realize that the low price point comes with very little (if any) options.  If you want a bike trailer to carry ONLY your children… this might be for you.  But, if you want additional storage space, adjustable suspension, or even a quality 5 point harness… you might want to look at other baby bike trailers.

MSRP: Double $119.99 (Amazon Link)

Optional Conversion Kits: Stroller

Allen Sports Deluxe Features:

  • Lightweight steel construction trailer with durable quick-release 16-inch steel wheels
  • Safely and comfortably transports 2 children (up to 100 lb max payload)
  • Large front and side windows provide a bright, airy cabin for your little rider
  • Foot guard tube protect passenger’s feet, and a padded five-point safety harness comfortable holds your child in place
  • Folding design with quick release wheels makes for easy transport and storage

InStep Double Seat

Not much to say about the InStep Double Seat.  It’s dirt cheap.  It works (as a bike trailer).  And, it has over 2,700 reviews with a 4 and a half star rating.  It can’t be all that bad right?  Just keep in mind that this is dirt cheap.  So, don’t expect a high build level or great options.  But, who cares if all you want it a bike trailer right? =)

MSRP: Single $124.99 (Amazon Link) | Double $119.99 (Amazon Link)

Optional Conversion Kits: None
